Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is keeping well and safe.

The Kaarana community - an independent group of public interest
technologists - is organizing a Call for Evidence to examine the pros
and cons of introducing blockchain in the Indian electoral systems.
[1]

The evidence can be submitted by technologists, social scientists,
lawyers, ethicists, blockchain practitioners, etc. As part of the
outreach for getting more evidence, Kaarana is hosting Prof. Ornit
Shani for a talk on the origins of elections in India.[2]

Date: Saturday, 8 May
Time: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Prof. Ornit Shani is Associate Professor of Modern Indian History,
Department of Asian Studies, University of Haifa. Ornit won the New
India Fellowship award for her book "How India Became Democratic"
