[Baypiggies] query about BayPIGgies Meeting

Hello, I'll be visiting San Francisco this weekend (arriving Thursday)
and I have a couple of questions:
A) Are the BayPIGgies meetings open to the public? (I'm a python user
from Pennsylvania.)
2) How can one get to the meeting from "downtown" San Francisco?
--- I'll be staying at the Ramada Plaza Downtown on Market Street, and
I'd be very interested in using BART (or something) as opposed to
renting a car for the night.
Thanks for any advice,
-bob,mon. (isolated python user in N.E. Pennsylvania)
