[Baypiggies] python versions

Hey y'all, what's the general vibe around versions of python: RH/centos is
still on 2.4.x, app-engine (last time I checked) was on 2.5.x, and 2.6.x has
been out for a while.
Is there a reason not to go for 2.6.x in a production environment?
