[Baypiggies] Reading XLSX files?

I'm looking for a way to read an Excel 2007 spreadsheet from within a
Python script (I don't need the script to be able to edit them).  Has
anyone on the list found a good way to do that?

I spent a few minutes searching the Internet, but everything I found
looked like it was in an unfinished state--most of them didn't even
seem to have packaged releases.
