One of PyBay <http://www.pybay.com/>’s goal is to support and facilitate
the growth of a diverse community of Python programmers. To that end, we
are thrilled to announce the availability of 5 diversity scholarships
sponsored by Clover Health.
If you have been looking for that financial aid to attend the Python
Regional Conference in SF on August 19-21, please fill out the application
Wednesday, July 27, at 10 p.m.. Candidates will be selected from the
application pool by the PyBay organizing committee. Selected candidates
will be notified by the end of day Friday, July 29.
Clover <http://www.cloverhealth.com/> is a new health insurance company
building a team dedicated to using technology in measurable ways to change
healthcare for the better. Python is an integral part of their tech stack.
It powers the data pipelines we use to process and analyze our member data,
and it integrates well with our data science tools. Python web frameworks
are also the foundation of the internal and external apps they build to
support our insurance operations. For example, Django’s CMS is instrumental
in allowing their marketing team to edit website content on the fly. Since
they rely on Python so heavily, one of their primary goals is to support
the Python community by sending people to conferences, sponsoring SF Python
<http://www.meetup.com/sfpython/> and other local events, and organizing
PyLadies <http://www.pyladies.com/> events in their office.
For PyBay 2016, Clover is offering 5 scholarship opportunities to those who
may otherwise be unable to attend the conference.
Want to sponsor a scholarship <http://www.pybay.com/#!sponsorship/z49gr>

grads, and people in between jobs are looking for ways to attend PyBay.

Let’s make this an awesome PyBay!
