I've found Lektor (https://www.getlektor.com/) to be very pleasant to work
with and quick to get up and running (http://adimian.com is entirely built
with Lektor).

By all means however, put it in a public repo, just in case you slip under
a bus we're not stuck for 10 years with an outdated website ;-)
