While there have been efforts in the past to create a user group meetup they seem to have stopped over the last few years. This is an attempt to bring a new & future-proof version of the Python user group back to life. Our first event will be on Thursday 23/02 and will take place in Leuven. During the first meetup, we will have the pleasure of hosting two talks. We will also set out our initial vision for the user group and welcome with open arms anyone that wants to participate in the organization of the user group's events. The focus is on knowledge sharing, education, and community building. Talks with commercial intents are frowned upon and avoided. Event-level sponsorship is welcome in order to support a free-as-in-beer experience during community events. Got some questions, ideas, or want to lend a helping hand? Then make sure to reach out to Bart , Vitale or me . More details on the 23/02 event will follow soon. We hope to see you there! Check out the meetup page here: https://www.meetup.com/python-user-group-belgium/ Kind regards, Murilo -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It's my fault. To help you with your event, what would you think if we integrated your event into the group that has been around for years. This would help to revitalise it. You should know that the current meetups, although inactive since covid19, have been very successful thanks to the investment in time and money of the different speakers (for example, Adimian, the PSF, Mobile Viking, myself, and other companies having relations with Python in Belgium). To give an idea, the group has taken the steps to get belgium at python.org, python.be, create the Python devroom at FOSDEM (python-fosdem.org), have the support of the Python Software Foundation, as well as the LinkedIn page "Python Belgium". We could just contribute together to Python in Belgium, there are not many of us in Belgium ;-) So, what do you think? And honestly, it's been a long time since I had a good beer with Python devs in Belgium ;-) except in Dublin for PyCon Ireland 2022, last month.
