In my experience, as someone who uses multiple roots and include/exclude
patterns, "Original size" and "Compressed size" appear to be the complete
size of the root folders, including files that are excluded by the
patterns.  In other words, even if I had deduplication and compression off,
I would not need the space reported in "Original size".  Not sure whether
this applies to you.
