[Borgbackup] borg restore issue

hello all.
ive been using borg for a while.
today my hardrive failed.. so i put in a new one.
im trying to run borg list (repo)
and getting perm denied running it as root.
same error if i use the downloaded version, or the OS version.
running linux mint.
