If youd on't see any additonal upload for existing files and
directories, it might simply not be supported at all. Otherwise you
would only need to upload things there.

You don't directly, but need some imaging tool and store its contents
instead. You should really be careful if that is what you want and
need. Remember that image container files are still large mostly, it
might be impossible to create something like incremental/differential
backups, it might be difficult to restore individual files etc.
