Interesting, let's try it:
borg mount -o versions nbecker at nbecker8:BACKUP/nbecker0 ~/borgmnt/
Nope, I don't see multiple versions of files.
[nbecker at nbecker0 s-band]$ borg --version
borg 1.2.3
[nbecker at nbecker0 s-band]$ ssh nbecker8 borg --version
borg 1.2.3
