[Borgbackup] lzma, 3-2-1 rule

Yes, but in the end nobody knows anyway. If it's that important for
you, you need to backup the backup software, a compatible host being
able to execute it etc. anyway as well. Which makes LZMA itself less
of a problem.

That's not what I was talking about, but you can read the same data
concurrently with Borg as well and backup into different repos. So you
can actually execute standard and off-site backup or standard backup
with multiple different target media at the same time. Especially in
case of modern CoW file systems like BTRFS and ZFS after simply taking
two snapshots one after another and basing the backups individually on
each of them.
