Is anybody (besides PyXML) using the _checkversion.py script, and the Tools/versioncheck mechanism? It appears to me that this ought to be superceded by a more general repository of installed packages, and a way to find out what updates to these packages are available. If so, I think it should be removed from the Python distribution. Regards, Martin
