WSGIScriptAlias /simple /data/pypi/src/pypi/pypi.wsgi
According to the bzr log, I reverted that because Python would crash
(with a core dump).

Ah, ok - relatively speaking.
That is certainly true: the CDN proposal has more risk to not work
correctly.
