that is helping people find roommates to split the cost of the hotel
bill. Also, there is the option of applying for financial aid. Details

And as a tip, if you do seek financial aid to attend the conference, I
highly recommend indicating your willingness to volunteer (perhaps at
the registration desk or the like).
