Vaguely. 

You can accomplish what you need to do with Raspberry Pi, 
but you're probably better off sticking with Arduino. 
You'll find the similar folks messing around with 
Raspberry Pis and Arduinos. Ethan Dicks who messes with 
both will likely be there. It could be an opportunity to 
find and talk with people who are familiar with Arduino.
