Hello,

I am Sean Tatman and am new to the Columbus area and COhPY.  I have been
working remotely (recently part-time) for my company in Vienna and would
like to make a switch to working full-time for a local company.
Here's a brief summary of my experience. I have been working since 2012 on
machine learning, optimization, simulation, and data analysis. Recently in
Python I have been using an API to make models with a Bayesian network
program to predict if there is cyclical behavior of stocks and market
sectors. In addition to the model, we tested many visuals to see if they
showed cycles in the data mostly using plotly and HTML to create reports. I
have some minor experience using PySpark for large data processing.
Currently, I am new to a position that emphasizes using PowerBI to generate
dashboards. Also, I have a master's in data analytics engineering and a
certified analytics professional certification from INFORMS professional
organization.
I am searching for a mid to senior-level role and am interested in
positions involving modeling and machine learning and/or data visualization

At the meeting next Monday we will have a presentation by Damien Galloway:

  * Is your current desktop irritating you? Just can?t get it to show
    what you want instead of what someone thinks you want? Come find out
    how to use Python to completely customize your desktop with Qtile.

And at the August meeting, Shelby Elzinga (an independent contractor) 
will be present how to used Docker with Flask. As she puts it:

  * DockerHub is the supermarket, the Docker engine is the microwave,
    and images are the frozen meals. The cooked meal poured out on a
    plate is the app running in a container.
  * She will talk about pulling a Flask image from DockerHub and run it
    as a Flask container.
  * Flask will then show up in browser.
  * Ding, dinner is ready

For now we will continue having our meetings virtually at

A couple of questions came up :


Yes, you can do stacking - this is the default layout, but you are not 
limited to only this.

Yes, you can mouse at anytime - the clips I showed were of mostly 
keyboard operation, but you are still in a GUI, and you can use the 
callback hooks to make your own mouse callbacks as well. That's the 
beauty of Qtile - it's all Python, no shell or C required.


Even if you never use it, you should still take a look at the code to 
see how a non-trivial Python application looks.
