Good morning Columbus Pythonistas,

We currently have a three-way tie for the November and December meeting
dates, with all votes favoring combining the two months. To break the tie,
I propose we keep the November meeting on 11/25 and cancel the December
meeting. If anyone has a strong preference or suggestion, please reach out
and we can adjust the schedule.

I also received a suggestion from a group member that we can discuss in
more depth at our next meeting on 10/28. They proposed moving all monthly
meetings to the second week of each month to avoid conflicts like Memorial
Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We would need to ask Kyle Jenkins of
Improving which days of the second week are available. Another comment was
made about Improving?s new office location in Franklinton?now that we have
to pay for parking there, we might want to consider whether to move to a
venue with free parking.

Feel free to add to the email chain if you can?t attend the 10/28 meeting
but would like to weigh in.

John, please let me know who to coordinate with for the website and Meetup
updates.

I think keeping the November 25th meeting and not meeting in December.
It's the Monday after Thanksgiving, so everyone should have recovered from
Thanksgiving and any Black Friday shopping.  The December meeting would be
on the 30th and I think it makes sense to let people have some down time
between Christmas (and other Solstice-adjacent holidays) and New Years.

I'm open to considering a different day of the month for meetings.  Would
definitely want to take a poll to see what day works best for the greatest
number of people.  The lack of free parking is a nuisance.  The parking
garages are expensive.  There's on-street parking which should be less than
$5 (growing up in the way-out suburbs, I'm not a huge fan of on-street
parking).  For a while we met at the Dublin library, I heard that the .Net
group had their September office where I work (It's at Polaris &
Cleveland).  I'll see if that might be an option.  Any other suggestions
are welcome.

We don't have a speaker for the monthly meeting, unless someone wants to be
the hero/heroine of the month and throw something together in a week.  I
was thinking of making it a Q&A suggestion.  If you want to submit
questions (topics you're interested in) in advance you can send them to my
email (jocassid at gmail.com)

I cancelled the meetings on Thanksgiving and the monthly meeting for
December on Meetup.  Jim, can you update the website?

You folks are running the show now, so feel absolutely free to ignore me.

In the before times, we never tried to have regular monthly meetings in
November or December because of bumping into the holidays. Instead we had a
social holiday gathering at the beginning of December (target was the first
Monday on or after December 7th) and we usually met at a bar or restaurant
close to the regular venue, so folks basically traveled the same distance
to a familiar area. No talks, just hanging out.
