I can't say I noticed either of them, but one or another of them led
me, perhaps several links later, to a nice essay about why languages
matter, and why many people won't agree with you about which are best. 
(okay, that last is my take on something he might not describe that


C makes an art of confusing pointers with arrays and strings, which
leads to lotsa neat pointer tricks; APL mistakes everything for an array,
leading to neat one-liners; and Perl confuses everything period,
