matplotlib installs dateutl by default, and uses it for all of it's
date tick locating (pytz too).  A very nice package.  You can use it,
for example, to say, place ticks on every 5th easter.  Not that you
would want to, but dateutil can do it.

So if you have matplotlib, you have dateutil and pytz already...
