I see no needless to omit?

The fact that the initial version was '"real"' should show that it is optimal. 
I don't see how dumbing it down makes it more informative.  But you are right, I 
did understand you to mean '"real"' and not 'real'.  Feel free to stop using 
periods at the end of sentences two - Eye can probably figure out what ewe average.
