[Chicago] ANN Chicago Python User Group (ChiPy) March Meeting: Scientists, VIM, and Thrift

Chicago Python User Group

For the first time ever (not really) ChiPy will return to the same  
venue two months in a row!  Sully's on the North Side, Near North and  
Clybourn.

Heading off the ChiPy efforts will be another sequel from last month.  
James Snyder will focus his ninja powers on all things scientific:  
NumPy, SciPy and Matplotlib.

Frank Duncan will extend the popular text editor VIM with pure Python  
(no vimscript or Lisp required!) allowing asynchronous communication  
to various other systems to build a better overall development  
environment. Or if you aren't into that sort of thing, you can at  
least extend vim with less pain and hassle.

Garrett Smith will present on Thrift with examples of Java/Python/C  
cross communication. Thrift is a software framework for scalable cross- 
language services development.

Our host for the meeting is Sully's House Tap Room & Grill.  All ages  
are welcome to this Free Private Event.  For those of age, Sully’s  
House offer 20 Beers on tap, and 35 Bottles - all craft and  
microbrewery, specializing in Belgium, Irish and German selections.   
Enjoy great Bar Food & Pizza from our Italian Oven and Daily  
discounted menu specials. The host has given us a dedicated  
bartender.  We will meet in the private party room on the second floor  
that is well equipped with top of the line video equipment – 100” HD  
screen & full A/V accessibility with Rock Band & Wii. Nice big space,
