Speaking of the GIL and your talk, I was one of the people who barked out
that AP's GIL change would probably be a py3k "carrot" and not get
backported. Hopefully I'm wrong -- there is now a patch attempting to
backport the changes to 2.7: http://bugs.python.org/issue7753
