I would like to know if you were interested in distributing this message throughout your group. I live in South of France and am not necessarily interested in joining the group myself. What do you think? Greetings from the Pyrenees, and have a beautiful summer, Nien Mari Chatz *Nomad?t? at Cavalus 2007* *MOVING MOUNTAINS - DANCING NATURE* *Summer workshop in the Pyrenees/France with Nien Mari Chatz* *August 6 ? 12* "NEW DANCE COCKTAIL" CONTACT - IMPROVISATION - BODYWORK & PERFORMANCE with Nien Mari Chatz For beginning and advanced movers *CONTACT IMPROVISATION* Practicing Contact Improvisation in the middle of nature will invite us to open all our senses and to discover new ways to dance together. A part from technical questions, Bodywork principles will be integrated in the creative research of partnering and improvisation. CI is an athletic yet sensual movement form involving two or more partners who are playing with physical contact while rolling, sliding, jumping, catching and carrying each other. Both dancers are improvising with the swing of gravity and centrifugal force, thus creating spontaneous, unique movement dialogues. *BODY WORK** *Release-Alignment and Body-Mind Centering* *are innovating methods designed to deepen our understanding of movement and to bring more depth and creativity into dancing. We'll investigate three aspects of these methods and apply them directly to Contact Improvisation: *?Bamboo in Wind?** ** *Experiential Anatomy based on Alignment/Release technique, including touch and movement research practice. Through sensory exploration of the dynamics of the skeleton, we learn to release unnecessary muscular tension, to use the alignment our bones as support, and to gain more ease and efficiency while moving. * ?Infants & Animals?** ** *Developmental patterns of the baby will be explored, in order to help clarify our movement history, perception and coordination. *?Weather of Heart Dances?** * The organs and their expression in movement: Discovering the "personality" of the organs will enrich our vitality and sense of presence while moving. *IMPROVISATION** * How to find - and hold - our inspiration to move sponataneously? How to keep mind and body in focus, so that we stay relaxed, aware and sensitive while letting dance happen ? almost - by itself? How to make up, change or break rules while sharing in improvisation our stories of the present moment? Practice will include awareness techniques and associative observation, as well as movement games and open scores, in order to clarify how we create a dance out of the moment, either as a soloist or in a group? We'll dance in the empty hay barn above the horses, as well as outdoors on a large mountain plateau, looking over the peaks of the Pyrenees. Evenings are open for informal performance, jamming and stories around the fire? *PERFORMANCE *in public space on Saturday 11th of August in St. Girons, on market day. *Fee:** **Including the workshop (5-6 h/day) and housing (6 days/7 nights) ** ** **Before july 20th: 245?
