Once upon a time - as you will remember M-A ;-) - there were some wiki pages 
about conference management solutions:

I think that a review of the current scene might be beneficial to everyone 
interested in this kind of thing. It would be nice if people writing such 
stuff had demo sites and more than a GitHub repository landing page, too.
