[C++-sig] Wrapper for exception translation - resurrection? :)

Hello,

I am in need of a better exceptions support in boost.python and I found a very 
interesting discussion [1], which is pretty close to what I was thinking 
about. The question is whether there was any actual progress with it?

I want to try and implement it if it's still something that would be accepted.
