Another possible name for the flag/index just occurred to me: what about
`which`?

It doesn't read quite right for a boolean, but it reads very nicely if
the attribute is in fact an integer index. And I think it describes the
_function_ of the flag (to pick _which_ of possibly-multiple ambiguous
datetimes to choose) more clearly than any of the other proposed options.
