[DB-SIG] informix db interface

I am trying to install informixdb.  The make appears to complete
successfully,
but I am getting an error when trying to import informixdb:

     raise ImportError, "Cannot locate C core module for informix db
interface."

We are using Informix 7.22, Solaris 2.5 and Python 1.4

Any ideas of what the problem may be?
