[DB-SIG] Which Oracle client libraries should i use?

Hi, all,
   I have been looking for the client library at
technet site. There are so many packages listed. I
don't know which one i need to download and install on
my client machine so that i can write a client program
in python to access Oracle 8i database server. If you
know, please kindly let me know the name of the file
or packages. Thanks a lot.
