[DB-SIG] What about translate a Java OR mapper to python ?

Hi,

I was wondering: Java has at least 3 mature open-source OR mappers
(Hibernate, Castor and OJB).

We could make a group and translate one of them to Python.

Writing a OR mapper is a complex task, so if we translate one I guess it
would be acomplished in less time than designing such a beast from the
scratch.

Please post your thoughts and sorry my english.
