[DCPIGgies] python on leopard

I ran python on os9.6 g3 and decided to try on my g5. I found some help thru pyhton.org and
installed 3.1.1. When I try my  ported G3 code using idle checking for syntax the python shell comes up.
When I try to run it appears to fail as no input or output. I interject and error and syntax check it
and idle picks up the error. I took an several examples from an pythoon 2.5 and they fail
with modules can't be found. Either links to framework are goofed on installs are in the wrong place.
Any suggestions??
