Coincidentally this was discussed last Tuesday at a face-to-face
meeting with the Pythoneers, and the opinion was generally "yes".
This arose out of discussion of a unit testing framework, so consensus
would have to be reached on that first -- writing the Distutils "test"
command would then be fairly simple, I think.
