[Distutils] BUG: distutils 0.9 bdist_rpm - missing subdirectory

Using distutils 0.9 (downloaded 7/10/00 from python.org), on Redhat 6.1,
I'm trying to build an RPM.

distutils fails to write

because the i386 subdirectory of RPMS

does not exist.

If I manually create 'RPMS/i386', the binary RPM gets built fine.

Aside from this glitch - this is great progress, since I've never
learned how to build RPMS before, and now distutils has done it for me.
Very nice!

(Thanks, Harry Henry Gebel!)
