Keywords do become useful for collections as large as Parnassus, and
probably for smaller collections, too.  I don't see why the keyword list
would have to be fixed between releases of Distutils -- can't it just be
in a standard place in the catalogue, as well as in Distutils?  Anything /
anyone using it would use the most up-to-date copy available. It would
have to be standardised to achieve its full potential.

If you have keywords I don't see why you'd need categories.  The only
reason I know of for using categories is when you're forced into it by
having physical objects that can only be in one place at a time.  A
software catalogue is not a paper book library.
