urllib2 (which easy_install uses, at least last time I looked) doesn't
support this syntax ATM (except for proxy auth), and it seems a shame to
do anything to prolong its existence. Of course the reason for
deprecating this (e.g. by RFC 3986) is that it has been used for spoofing.
The RFCs never allowed it in http URLs, BTW.
Perhaps ask interactively only if a --prompt-for-passwords option is
passed? I suppose --user and --password options would be wrong, because
easy_install wouldn't know which server to send the username and password
to.
