[Distutils] setup.py develop not working, setuptools 0.6c9

Hello,
I get the following error with setuptools 0.6c9, updated today with
easy_install:

sihpc03:pymc anand$ python setup.py develop
usage: setup.py [global_opts] cmd1 [cmd1_opts] [cmd2 [cmd2_opts] ...]
   or: setup.py --help [cmd1 cmd2 ...]
   or: setup.py --help-commands
   or: setup.py cmd --help

error: invalid command 'develop'
sihpc03:pymc anand$

I'm using:

Python 2.5.2 Stackless 3.1b3 060516 (python-2.52:61022, Feb 27 2008,
16:52:03)
[GCC 4.0.1 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 5341)] on darwin
