[Distutils] Buildbot throwing a gear after default setup?

Ah, wasn't sure where to get it; I wasn't sure whether you'd changed  
the buildbot code on bitbucket or something else.

bin/test was what complained about missing zlib.  I ran it by hand to  
see if it was working.

I thought I had apt-get installed all the zlib components so I wasn't  
expecting problems but I guess not.  It now throws a different gear in  
a different way, so I guess I got your changes :-)
