[Distutils] Installing stdeb on vanilla Ubuntu

I have worked with Matthias Klose to fix a showstopper in
python-setuptools  for 2.6.2+

We've discussed the option of adding in Ubuntu a python-distribute package.

Maybe we could do the same thing with debian if anyone knows a debian
package manager
that is willing to help us ?
