a) Sounds good.

b) What about existing branches that are waiting for merging?  I've got 
one that's about half a year old. (The one with support for distutils 
scripts in addition to the console_scripts entry points). Small change, 
includes tests.  Are branches like that supposed to be merged beforehand?
