It will attempt to translate any dependencies specified with
setuptools/distribute's install_requires kwarg to setup(). This can be
disabled with --ignore-install-requires. Otherwise, create an stdeb.cfg
file (or a [stdeb] section in setup.cfg) that has a "Depends:" line for
the Debian package names you want.

What exactly is the error? Can you post the traceback or other error?
python-support should resolve this reference at .deb build time.
