I think this is a duplicate of 
https://bitbucket.org/tarek/distribute/issue/283/bdist_egg-issues-with-py
thon-330ax
which has been open for a while.  It really needs to be fixed soon;  
Python 3.3.0 beta 1 will be released in a few days.
