I have mixed feelings on semver (and PEP386), but double amen to that it hurts to have
multiple version schemes in concurrent use, specially when all 3 are (at least in way
or another) incompatible with each other. Personally I think PEP386 (with a tweak to
it to make it compatible with setuptools) is the proper step forward for Python because
it's an easier transition than semver.
