That happens to me too - I think Google Groups messes with the
reply-to header, breaking it. It also breaks threading and filtering,
in my experience.

The Google Groups interfaces are known to be weird (I'm being polite
here when I want to say "broken"). I don't know about reading through
GG or missing messages, but certainly I'd recommend never posting by
that route.
