How do you propose Warehouse should publish the static metadata? How should
distlib abstract over the different metadata formats?

Or perhaps I should just drop the whole section about "pysdist.json" files?

It's orthogonal to the essential purpose of the PEP, and it seems to be
confusing people more than it's helping (we *can* put these files in the
sdists they describe, but we don't *have* to).
