I just played with this emacs table mode and I have to say it is very
awesome!  It makes editing tables just as easy in plain text as it is in a
word processor.  What ever is chosen as the standard for structured text
markup, I will be very disappointed if it doesn't allow defining tables like
this.  It is very intuitive, very readable in it's plain text form, and with
table.el for emacs very easy to create and edit too.
