[docs] Search page not showing progress

Hi there,

When I do a search on the docs site, e.g:
http://docs.python.org/search.html?q=dict

The results take very long to return, at which point the page just looks
empty, i.e. there is no progress indicator or anything.
i.e. the *<div id="search-results">...</div>* section is not shown until
some data has started to be returned.

The progress indicator should show up before any data has started to return.

The results aren't worth waiting for though, perhaps provide the google site
search function as the main search function rather?
