Dear Python Edinburgh,

I hope you're enjoying PyCon so far!

I'm here with my colleagues John amd Celia from Evidence for Development, a small NGO that develops open-source software to manage and model data concerning people's livelihoods/incomes, standards of living and food security in developing countries - with the ultimate aims of assessing development projects, avoiding famines and improving people's economic well-being.

This software needs the input of enthusiastic programmers to help with its development, as we continue to make improvements to one programme and are more or less starting from scratch with another.

It would be great to discuss how your Python user group might be able to contribute to this exciting project. We'll be around PyCon until around 4pm tomorrow (Sunday), mainly in room  CC1.2 - please pop in for a chat!
