Hi Douglas,

So in summary :

We are meeting tonight between 7pm and 9pm at Appleton tower
https://goo.gl/maps/BRSW8. Unless we se a big sign we should head for
the 8th Floor?
We should bring a laptop and a python book if we have one.
We should think about a problem we would like to solve(or perhaps one we
have solved to show to others). 
We should preinstall a python interpreter and maybe a IDE, if we can.

Then we make it up as we go along?

I suppose it depends on what your chosen problem is. A laptop and some
sort of Python interpreter would be a start.

Just to be clear everyone - this is a self-learning experience where
everyone gets together and helps each other on their own chosen
problems. I'm not going to be standing at the front giving a lecture or
walking you through the steps of an exercise. As I said at the start,
I'm as much a beginner as anyone and if I'm the only "mentor" coming
then we'd all better be ready to teach ourselves.

So it would be a good idea to get clear in your mind what your chosen
problem is and what tools you will need to bring to work on it.
