While I have to agree with your sensible conclusion, you needn't give up on
Eiffel *that* quickly.  The FSF also produces an Eiffel compiler, and for
free; see

This is a healthy and active project; the latest release was just last week.

In ISE's "defense", I hope they get filthy rich selling Eiffel!  Then maybe
they can afford to support Python development too <wink>.
