So we have a consensus I think.

True it is annoying to have to share a language with a 
bunch of pros.

And the change in the division operator status might represent
a small sacrifice to the pedagogical value of the language.

But all in all,  community spirit being what it is - we learners,novices, and
educators graciously accept to sacrifice on their behalf.

Should we let them know?
